Longview Rallies, Beats Wildcats Soccer 4-2

Men’s soccer got up early against the first-placed Lobos, but could not keep up their momentum, falling to Longview 4-2 on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Sulphur Springs scored two straight to go up 2-0 on the Lobos Tuesday at home.

Unfortunately for Coach Alexi Upton’s squad, Longview (6-0-1) scored four unanswered to win over the Wildcats 4-2 on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

The men’s soccer coach said his team did not finish the game like they could have,”[losing the game] in the last 20.”

The loss is the second straight for men’s soccer.

Osvaldo Arrellano and Alex Yanez scored for the Wildcats, assisted by Uriel Antacruz and Edgar Salazar, respectively.

Tuesday’s home loss to the Lobos dropped Sulphur Springs to 4-13-2 (3-4 district).

Coach Upton and his squad have another tough match-up Friday when they host Mount Pleasant.

That game kicks off at the Prim on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:15 P.M.
