Sulphur Springs Man Arrested On Comal County Warrant

Sulphur Springs, TX – July 14, 2020 – A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on a Comal County warrant Monday.

Sulphur Springs Police Office Sean Hoffman responded to a call for service in the 1400 block of East Industrial Drive. Upon arrival, Hoffman observed Munsel Jamel Calhoun in the room he was dispatched to. A records check showed the warrant, resulting in Calhoun’s arrest at 1:30 p.m. July 13, 2020 on the outstanding Comal County possession of more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams of a Penalty Group controlled substance charge, according to jail reports. Bond was preset at $20,000 on the charge.

July 13 is the second time in the last month that Calhoun has been booked into Hopkins County jail. He was also arrested June 19 on warrants for not taking care of two misdemeanor tickets, according to jail reports.
