Lt. Colonel Bryce A. Hogue passed away early Monday morning, March 23, 2026.
Bryce was born on May 21, 1932, at the family farm near Arcadia, Valley County, Nebraska, to the late Noel C. Hogue and Olive Rosenquist Hogue. He graduated from Arcadia High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Ohio State University. He married Marcia Nansel on March 23, 1956 and he passed away on their 70th wedding anniversary.
After graduating through Air Force ROTC, he joined the Air Force and was assigned to training as a Traffic Controller at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. After additional training, he was assigned to South Korea as a Radar Site Commander. He was later assigned to Ellsworth AFB as a Minuteman Missile Commander, then to Fort Lee and McGuire AFB as Senior Radar Director, and to Norfolk, VA, as a student at the Armed Forces Staff College. He then went to Da Nang, South Vietnam, as a Battle Commander and Operations Officer. He later served with Minuteman Missiles at Grand Forks, ND, and then in Procurement at Forbes AFB, KS, and George AFB in Southern California, where he retired from the military with 22 years, 3 months, and 12 days of service.
He and his family moved to Denver, CO, where he worked for the Brown Palace Hotel and Rocky Flats Mountain Arsenal in Procurement. He later retired to traveling and enjoying Denver’s weather and mountain beauty.
Lt. Colonel Hogue is survived by his wife, Marcia; his daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Chock Yates; granddaughters Callie Lenfest and her husband, Dr. Stephen Lenfest and two great-granddaughters, Harper and Tatum Lenfest; grandson MSgt. Destin Yates and his wife, Katherine Yates; and great-grandson, Donovan Yates and great-granddaughter, Scout Yates.
Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2026, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Lust officiating.
