IYKYK Gala Moments
March 16, 2026 – Sulphur Springs, TX – The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation is known for having
fun, so this look back at Gala history is provided with a wink and a smile!
As far back as 2009, the Civic Center has been decked out for the annual event. No area is left untouched. Food tables, corners, and dead-end hallways…all have the festive touch of volunteers.
The more random and over-the-top decorated areas are the bathrooms. Not just one or two, but all four get in on the action. Historically, they went with the theme. In later years, the décor has been much more restrained.
The ladies’ rooms feature all sorts of glitz and glam, including door sashes, paintings, flowers, folded soft paper hand towels, elegant fabrics, and crystal bowls of mints. While the ladies’ facilities were elegant, the men’s rooms involved more humorous décor. No secrets can be shared here because these were more IYKYK (if you know, you know) scenes, but let’s just say they were awfully funny. Sayings were usually
displayed on the walls, with decoration festooning even the more utilitarian fixtures. We hope you enjoyed some good, clean fun with this insight into the Gala restroom décor. Who knows what surprises the 20 th anniversary Gala restrooms will hold? You will need to be there to find out!
Proceeds from the 2026 Gala will be used for serious, life-saving work at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs. The new surgical wing needs funding for medical equipment to outfit the space, so the Foundation Board of Directors plans to donate $250,000 to that important project to benefit our entire community.

The proceeds from the Gala were used to purchase Therapeutic Hypothermia Equipment for the local hospital at the time, Hopkins County Memorial. The Honorees that year were “all good things in Hopkins County.”
