Lou Beth Fikes, age 72 years and 10 months, passed away in the early morning hours of February 4, 2026, at AVIR (Lindale Specialty Care) in Lindale, Texas. She was a resident of Lindale and formerly lived in the Gilmer, Texas area.Lou Beth was born on April 21, 1953, to Harold and Ivy Belle (Lindley) White and was raised in a family deeply rooted in faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fikes; her parents; and her grandparents, Raymond and Lillie Belle Lindley, and Charlie and Nettie White.She is survived by her sister, Dora June White of Lindale, Texas; her brother, Wayne White (Debbie) of Sulphur Springs, Texas; her niece, Shannon Hicks (Matt) of Rogers, Arkansas; and her nephew, Chuck White (Jennifer) of Sulphur Springs, Texas. She is also survived by her great-nephew, Gavin White, and great-niece, Maeanna White; and step great-nieces, Taylor, Abby, and Brynn. A special thank you is extended to friends Reba Taylor and Sherry Henson, who spent many hours with her over the last couple of months, and to Peggy Erb, who so graciously cared for Lou Beth when she first came to live at the ranch.Lou Beth was a longtime member of the Sulphur Springs Church of the Nazarene, where her love for music was evident to all who knew her.
She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1971 and attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, where she majored in music with a focus on vocal performance. She further nurtured her lifelong passion by studying vocal performance for several years under Mrs. Lena Day in Sulphur Springs.She is also survived by her stepson, Jacob Fikes.Lou Beth will be remembered for her feisty spirit, her deep love of animals, and her enduring passion for music.
