Crime in Sulphur Springs Dropped by Close to 10 Percent in 2025

February 20, 2026 – Crime in Sulphur Springs dropped by close to 10 percent in 2025, according to the annual crime statistics provided by the Sulphur Springs Police Department.

A total of 113 crimes were reported during 2025 in the seven major categories of crime: homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, theft and vechicle theft.

That was 20 fewer than in 2024, and just two more than the all time low of 111 major crimes reported in 2022.

The 113 major crimes reported last year is only about a third as many as the 375 reported in 1999.

There were no homicides reports reported in Sulphur Springs last year for the second consecutive year.

Only 10 burglaries reported in 2025, a new low dating back to 1999.  Half of those were home burglaries.

Just one robbery was reported last year, equalling 2011 as the fewest robberies committed since 1999.

Eleven sexual assaults were reported in 2025, down from the 14 reported in 2024.

In 2025, 13 aggravated assault were committed, one more than the year before.

There were 65 fhefts of items valued at more than 300 dollars last year, 11 fewer than in 2024.
