Graveside funeral service for Anna Jean “Mama Ann” Patterson Doss age 94 of Ridgeway will be held at 2PM Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Ridgeway Cemetery with family members presiding. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Froneberger, Garrett Sprague, Clay Bearden, Cole Sprague, Justin Bearden and Jesse Bearden serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel.
Mrs. Doss died Thursday, February 26, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 14, 1931, in Ridgeway Community, the daughter of Otha Leon “Shorty” Patterson and Willie Mae Wilhite “Upmas”. She married Melvin Leonard Doss on October 22, 1948, in Sulphur Springs and he preceded her in death November of 1997 after forty-nine years of marriage.
Mrs. Doss was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother to all her family. She was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter Patti Doss of Ridgeway, grandchildren; Lisa Sprague and Duane, Dee Ann Hoelscher and Daniel, Angela Bearden and Stoney, Jeremy Froneberger and Kari, Brad Dougan and Kendra and Tony Dougan. Twelve great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death the by her parents, a son Gary Doss on August 1, 2016, sisters Ovetra Evans and Eloise Pennington.
