A Message of Inspiration From the Author of Living Loved, January 18, 2026

Hey friends!!  I  hear stories every day of broken lives, of hurting and failings and I often reflect on all the brokenness I  have seen in my own life.   I  was just thanking the Lord for the many times He has held me secure through cancer, divorce, sickness, heart attack, abuse, etc.  And I’m so thankful that He is my strong tower that I  can seek sanctuary in.   And friends there’s a Franklin Roosevelt quote that says, “a calm sea never made a skilled sailor,” and that has stuck with me during the difficulties of life.  Friends, life has a way of bringing sudden storms—moments of uncertainty, grief, fear, loss and weariness that threaten to pull us under. But Scripture reminds us that for us as believers, we are never left drifting. Jesus is the anchor of our soul—sure and steadfast.  He never leaves us or forsakes us and He loves us with an unfailing love that you can hold tightly to.

And friends you see, the anchor doesn’t stop the storm; it holds the ship through the storm so it cannot be blown away.  And friends in the same way, Jesus does not promise us a life without trials, but He promises stability when everything around us is shaking. When emotions rage, when answers feel delayed or forgotten, when sickness or loss happens, when we feel unloved and invisible, and when our faith feels tested, Christs hold is strong.   He is a strong tower in our times of need, anchoring our hearts in Him and His promises.

Hebrews 6:18-19 says

[18] So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. [19] This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Our hope is not anchored in circumstances, people, or outcomes—it is anchored in who Jesus is: unchanging, faithful, victorious, and near.  And all His promises are yes and amen!

So friends, when waves of fear crash in, Jesus anchors us in peace.   When doubt whispers lies, Jesus anchors us in truth.

When suffering feels overwhelming, Jesus anchors us in eternal hope.

Friends anchors go deep, unseen beneath the surface; just like Christ’s work in us is often quiet but powerful—holding us steady even when we don’t feel strong. The wind may howl, the waters may rise, but our souls remain secure because they are tethered to Him.

So today, if you feel tossed about, let go of striving and cling to the Anchor. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Trust His promises. Rest in His presence.

The storm may be loud—but the Anchor is stronger.

“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”(Psalm 61:2)

You are so loved friends.  Live loved!!
