Juan Serrato Diaz Obituary
Funeral Mass for Juan Serrato Diaz, age 78, of the Dike Community will be held at 1PM Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Victor Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at the North Hopkins Cemetery with Adrian “AD” Diaz, Jorge Diaz, Eric Diaz, Omar Davis, Dalton Miller and Aaron Daniels serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at West Oaks Funeral Home and Rosary recited at 6PM.
Juan was born on May 24, 1947, in Cedral, San Luis Potosi, Mexico the son of Clemente Diaz and Nicolasa Serrato. He married the love of his life Maria Reyna Alvarzez on March 5, 1977, at St. James Catholic Church and were one of the first Hispanic couples to get married at the church.
Mr. Diaz was retired and was a hard worker, former dairyman, worked for Texas Department of Transportation, for over twelve years. Loved to sing and dance, listen to music, especially the Norteña’s, enjoyed horseback riding, he had a love for animals and most of all enjoy wrestling and “Lucha Libre”.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years Reyna Diaz of Dike, sons; Adrian “AD” Diaz and wife Criste of Dike, Jorge Diaz and wife Jennifer Gonzalez Diaz of San Antonio and Eric Diaz of Dike; daughter Rocio Diaz Davis and husband Omar Davis. Grandchildren Dalton Miller and wife Alexis Miller of Miller Grove, Aubrey and Ava Davis of Dike. Two great grandchildren, Ryleigh Miller and Remington Miller of Miller Grove. Brothers; Agustín Diaz of Saladito, San Luis Potosí, México and Esteban Diaz of Matamoros: Sisters, Anita Diaz of Cedral, San Luis Potosi, Carmen Diaz of Monterey, Nuevo Leon and Ofelia Diaz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lola Diaz.
La misa funeral de Juan Serrato Díaz, de 78 años, de la Comunidad Dike, se celebrará a la 1:00 pm horas del miércoles 31 de diciembre de 2025 en la iglesia católica de St. James, con el padre Víctor Hernández oficiando. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio North Hopkins, con Adrián “AD” Diaz, Jorge Diaz, Eric Diaz, Omar Davis, Dalton Miller y Aaron Daniels como portadores del ataúd.
El velatorio se celebrará de 5:00 a 8:00 pm horas el martes 30 de diciembre de 2025 en la funeraria West Oaks y se recitará el Rosario a las 6:00 pm.
Juan nació el 24 de mayo de 1947 en Cedral, San Luis Potosí, México, hijo de Clemente Díaz y Nicolasa Serrato. Se casó con el amor de su vida, María Reyna Álvarez, el 5 de marzo de 1977 en la iglesia católica de St. James, y fueron una de las primeras parejas hispanas en casarse en la iglesia.
El Sr. Díaz estaba jubilado y era un trabajador incansable, ex lechero, que trabajó para el Departamento de Transporte de Texas durante más de doce años. Le encantaba cantar y bailar, escuchar música, especialmente los norteñas, montar a caballo, le encantaban los animales y, sobre todo, disfrutaba de la “Lucha Libre”.
Le sobreviven su esposa durante cuarenta y ocho años, Reyna Díaz de Dike, sus hijos; Adrián “AD” Diaz y su esposa Criste de Dike, Jorge Diaz y su esposa Jennifer González Diaz de San Antonio y Eric Diaz de Dike; la hija Roció Diaz Davis y su marido Omar Davis. Nietos Dalton Miller y su esposa Alexis Miller de Miller Grove, Aubrey y Ava Davis de Dike. Dos bisnietos, Ryleigh Miller y Remington Miller de Miller Grove. Hermanos; Agustín Díaz de Saladito, San Luis Potosí, México y Esteban Díaz de Matamoros: Hermanas, Anita Díaz de Cedral, San Luis Potosí, Carmen Díaz de Monterey, Nuevo León y Ofelia Díaz.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y una hermana, Lola Díaz.
