State Fair of Texas Announces Retirement of Beloved Log Ride After 2025 Season
DALLAS (October 8, 2025) — The State Fair of Texas announced Wednesday that the 2025 Fair will be the final season for one of its most iconic attractions — the Log Ride. Fairgoers are encouraged to “take your final ride” and enjoy one last splash before the Midway favorite closes permanently at the end of this year’s Fair.
Introduced in 1986, the Log Ride quickly became a signature part of the Fair’s family-friendly fun, offering thrills, laughs, and a refreshing break from the Texas heat. Over nearly four decades, the attraction has welcomed millions of riders and become a cherished tradition for generations of Texans.
“The Log Ride has been a beloved part of the State Fair experience for decades,” said Rusty Fitzgerald, senior vice president of midway operations. “This season, we invite everyone to celebrate the memories made and enjoy one final ride before we turn the page to new adventures.”
While the retirement marks the end of an era, Fair officials said plans are underway to bring new attractions to the Midway in the coming years.
The 2025 State Fair of Texas runs from September 26 through October 19 at Fair Park in Dallas.
