A Message of Inspiration From the Author of Living Loved, October 12, 2025
Book 2
The book of Haggai , it’s just a short, sweet little book in the Old Testament, but it packs such depth to it. Here the Isrealites are pursuing their own desires and are neglecting what God had asked them to do, rebuild his Temple. During this time of disobedience, they began experiencing some struggles; they weren’t yeilding the crops they expected, etc.
He said to them LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU!! “You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! You hoped for rich harvests, but they were poor. And when you brought your harvest home, I blew it away. Why? Because my house lies in ruins, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, while all of you are busy building your own fine houses.”
Haggai 1:6&9
God sent someone to warn them, to instruct them to rebuild the temple….once they heeded this instruction from the Lord, they began to be blessed again.
So often we seek our own desires and put Gods desires for us, the work he has called us to, near the bottom of the list. And many times we experience that “drought” in life, where it seems like everything we touch fails. That nothing seems to satisfy.
BUT….Proper alignment of priorities, with God being our first priority, always harvests blessings. IT IS NOT TOO LATE to turn around, to begin doing what He asked you to do! It’s not too late to be faithful to Him and what He has called you to do! Where are your priorities today?
***BONUS MATERIAL:::: The interesting thing about this temple he was asking them to build, is that 500 yrs later Jesus walked in THOSE temple courts. You never know what the Lord will use the work you do for him today to accomplish later, He always has a reason and a plan….
