Gala Silent Auction Committee Seeks Donations
August 3, 2025 – Planning for the Hopkin’s County Health Care Foundation’s 2026 Gala is in progress, and the Silent Auction Committee is canvassing the town in search of auction item donations to help advertise local businesses while raising money for Hopkins County healthcare. An estimated 540 in-person guests, as well as online bidders, will vie for winning bids on the items. It is a very popular component of the Gala with 433 bids placed during last year’s silent auction.
The committee is looking for popular, interesting, and/or unusual items and experiences to be donated which will appeal to a variety of people. Possible items they are seeking are gift certificates, themed baskets, memorabilia, art, décor, and other items for men, women, and children. Interested donors who do not have products or services to feature in the auction may wish to donate cash that can then be used to purchase goods for the auction.
The donated items need to be turned in by Tuesday, November 11 to garner maximum exposure for the donor and the auction. This allows time for photographing the items, adding to the Gala website, including in the printed program, and any other publicity for the auction.
The 2025 silent auction exceeded $23,000 and added greatly to the overall income for the event. Gala Silent Auction Chair Carolyn McKinney shared, “We are so excited for this year’s silent auction. Since it is the twentieth anniversary of the Gala, we want this auction to be as amazing as those in the past. We have a great group of volunteers to make it happen, and we are so thankful for our awesome and caring community that always supports our efforts.”
Bids may be placed as soon as Noon on Monday, January 19 with bidding concluding at 10 pm the night of the Gala, January 24.

The Foundation is an IRS 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All funds raised are used to improve healthcare in Hopkins County.

The Silent Auction takes place online and in person, providing maximum exposure for donors.
