Texas Sands PAC Holds Over $9 Million Ahead of Election Season

August 11, 2025 – As the 2025 election season ramps up, Texas Sands PAC, the political arm of casino giant Las Vegas Sands, has revealed it is sitting on more than $9 million in cash, according to new financial disclosures. The well-funded super PAC is expected to play a major role in shaping the future of casino gambling legislation in Texas.

The bulk of the PAC’s war chest comes from Miriam Adelson, the billionaire majority owner of Las Vegas Sands and the Dallas Mavericks. Adelson has long been a driving force behind the company’s expansion efforts—and now, her focus appears to be on cracking into one of the last untapped gambling markets in the country: Texas.

Despite its name, Las Vegas Sands no longer operates casinos in the United States. The company sold its Nevada properties in 2022 and now runs integrated resort casinos solely in Macau and Singapore.

Texas remains one of the most restrictive states when it comes to gambling, and the Republican Party of Texas has shown no signs of backing down from its position.

“We oppose any expansion of gambling, including legalized casino gambling,” the party stated in its official platform.

Still, with deep pockets and growing influence in Texas business and political circles, Texas Sands PAC is widely expected to support pro-gambling candidates and push legislation in the 2025 session that could open the door to casino-style resorts in major metro areas.

Whether that effort gains traction remains uncertain. Previous pushes have failed amid conservative resistance, but with millions ready to be spent and high-profile backers like Adelson involved, gambling interests may be more determined than ever to roll the dice in Texas politics.
