Their season has been defined by two contrasting facets: elite pitching and a sputtering offense. The Rangers boast the best team ERA in the majors, anchored by standout performances from Nathan Eovaldi and a sturdy bullpen—even ranking at the top of the American League.
Yet, offensive struggles persist. The team’s bats have cooled considerably, managing just nine runs across five games and arriving at an agonizing 5-for-37 in scoring opportunities with runners in position. Amid these woes, Adolis García has landed on the injured list with an ankle issue, prompting the recall of outfielder Evan Carter.
Still, there are bright spots. A recent 10–4 win over Toronto featured four home runs and a sharp outing by Eovaldi, who improved to 11–3 on the season.
Despite a turbulent season, projections remain cautiously optimistic. PECOTA preseason estimated a 75% playoff chance, with 6.9% odds of a World Series title.
Bottom line: The Rangers’ pitching gives them a fighting chance—but unless the offense rebounds soon, their path to October baseball will remain steep.
