Rangers Take the Field Today at 1PM vs The Yankees

August 6, 2025 – Today, the Texas Rangers (60–55), positioned third in the AL West and 4.5 games behind division leader Houston, take on the New York Yankees (60–54), sitting third in the AL East and trailing Boston by 6.5 games.

This afternoon’s matchup followed yesterday’s thrilling 2–0 victory by the Rangers over New York. Rangers ace Nathan Eovaldi delivered a dominant performance: eight shutout innings, just one hit allowed, zero walks, and six strikeouts, lowering his season ERA to an impressive 1.38 and securing his 10th win.

Offensively, the Rangers broke through in the eighth inning with Rowdy Tellez delivering a clutch two-RBI single on a 10-pitch at-bat, which turned out to be the difference. Joc Pederson also contributed by reaching base in all four plate appearances and scoring the insurance run.

With this win, Texas inches just half a game ahead of New York in the Wild Card standings, tightening the playoff race considerably.
