Calvin Charles Bell passed away May 22, 2025. Calvin was born on December 6, 1947, to Alvin and Eddie Mae Bell. He was one of nine children, consisting of three girls and six boys.
He attended Fredrick Douglas High School in Sulphur Springs, Texas, where he played football and was voted best dressed during his junior year. His passion for dressing well continued throughout his life.
At the age of 18, Calvin was drafted into the military and served in Vietnam. Following his service, he relocated to Houston. His initial employment was with Gordon Jewelers, and subsequently, he worked for the moving company Mayflower. Later, he joined Transco Towers, which is now known as Williams Tower.
Calvin was married to Pearlita David, and together they had one son, Geoffrey Bell. He had a deep knowledge of the Bible and enjoyed painting, with many people possessing his artwork in their homes. Additionally, he produced a Gospel record titled, “Footprints of Jesus.”
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Alvin Jr., Benjamin, Kenneth, and Volanderous, and his sister, Vivian. He is survived by his wife, Pearlite, his son Geoffrey, his brother, Richard (Brenda), his sisters, Evelyn and Gwen, as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who cherish his memory.
