Sheila Woodworth

Sheila Renee Woodworth, age 64, of Cumby, TX, stepped into eternity with Jesus Christ her Lord in the late morning hours of March 9, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born to William Alkire and Wanda Vanginault Alkire, March 3, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio. She made her public profession of faith in Christ Jesus on May 25, 1967 at West Bethel Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio and was baptized one month later.

Sheila married Michael Eugene Woodworth, son of Eugene and Margaret Woodworth of New York, on November 21, 1987 at Reilly Springs Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and stayed home to raise their children, Adam and Liz. She was an artisan of stained glass, loved singing hymns and taking part in Church activities.

She was preceded in death by both her paternal grandparents, Earl and Leota Alkire of Lost Creek, West Virginia, and both her maternal grandparents, Henry and Ina Vanginault of the Reilly Springs community. She was also preceded in death by her father, William Alkire.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Woodworth, to whom she was married 36 years. She is also survived by their daughter Liz Woodworth, and son Adam Woodworth with his wife, Ashton and the grandchildren; Kate, Seth, Gideon, Titus and Jane. Sheila is further survived by her mother, Wanda Alkire, and her siblings, a brother David Alkire and wife Penny; two sisters, Brenda Hooker and husband Jack; and Wendy Alkire. Sheila is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, as well as leaving behind her faithful dog, Sadie, who she considered a big part of her family.

Funeral arrangements are with Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, TX. Visitation is set for Wednesday, March 13th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and funeral services on Thursday, March 14th, at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Reilly Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Amos Hooker, Asa Hooker, Evan Hooker, Jeremy Alkire, Caleb Newby, and Tyler Donnenwerth.
