Knight of Columbus: Flag Retirement Ceremony

March 5, 2024 – The Knights of Columbus Council 8975 will be performing a Flag Retirement Ceremony on April 20, 2024.

Conducting a flag retirement ceremony is a very meaningful opportunity for everyone to reflect on the meaning of the flag as a great symbol of freedom. The U.S. flag is considered such a sacred symbol that burning it in an undignified manner constitutes desecration. That’s why the ceremonies are held in a specific manner.
