Ocotber 28, 2023 – The Official State Sport of Washington is being played here in Sulphur Springs… and what’s next? Cats and dog living together? It’s hard to say but easy to pronounce. It’s pi·kuhl·baal.

Brian Crump of CANHelp is bravely leading the way for the 2023 Open Invitational PickleBall Tournament Of The Greater Hopkins County Areas. The no-holds-barred event goes down 18 November 2023. You can register and find out more about the rules, regulations, and uniform guidelines here. Currently there are no hard and fast rules about how many holes a Hopkins County pickleball must have… Just as long as each ball has between 26 and 40 circular holes and they are evenly spaced.

Brian currently practices 8 days a week at the Tennis Complex at the Sulphur Springs High School. Several of the courts have been temporarily repainted to meet The International Pickleball Federation (IPF) Regs.

The IPF’s goal is to introduce pickleball to all nations so that they may embrace the sport as one of their national sports, and ultimately to achieve official recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in order to establish pickleball as an Olympic sport. The IPF
