A funeral service for Winford “Wink” Paul Wilson, age 88, of Yantis, Texas, will be held at Tapp Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will held at Tapp Funeral Home on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Wink passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at UT Health in Quitman, Texas.
Wink was born to Paul and Hattie (Burchfield) Wilson on November 21, 1934 in Yantis, Texas. He was the loving husband to Madeline (Coker) Wilson, married in Yantis, Texas, on June 3, 2000. Wink served 2 years in the United States Army then returned home to the Dallas area to work as a carpenter. He retired to work as a cattleman in Yantis, Texas. In his free time, Wink loved fishing, hunting, and raising and working cattle. He was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church.
Wink is survived his wife, Madeline Wilson; her children, Carolyn Ogle and husband Bobby, Larry Holland and wife Tami, Virgil Jr. Holland and wife Debbie, Gerald Holland and wife Mary, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Wink is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie Wilson; daughter, Kim Baggs; son, Joe Wilson; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
