A funeral service for Richard Darlin, age 66, of Birmingham, Alabama ,will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev C.J. Duffey and Buddy Gore officiating. Pallbearers will be Benny Dixon, Tim Tanton, Dusty McIlwain, Danny Hammons, Jerry Adair, Jerry Miller, Justin Coleman, John Wiler, Larry Walls, Danny Clark, Ronnie Parris, Bill Owens, Zach Adair, Dave Bergeson and Larry Matthew. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Darlin Passed away on December 3, 2022, at the Birmingham VA Hospital.
Richard was born on December 5, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Pete and Peggy (Sawyer) Darlin. He married Kimberly Lou Newberry on February 19, 1983, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Richard was a retired car salesman. He was a member of the Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sisters, Kim McCoy, Linda Adair and husband, Jerry, and Gloria Kearby and husband, Rick; brother, Jim Sells and wife, BJ; and long life best friend, Tim Tanton.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and son, Pete Darlin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital or the SPCA.
