Patsy Higginbotham

Patsy Sue Higginbotham, 81 passed away at her home in Brashear, Texas on Friday, October 21st, 2022. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25th, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12:00 noon at Brashear Baptist Church in Brashear, Texas with Brother David Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Brashear Cemetery.


Patsy was born in Cumby, Texas on August 6, 1941, the eldest child of John Franklin Mabe and Ruby Jewel Smith Mabe. Patsy lived in the Brashear community for most of her life. Patsy was raised in a loving family with brothers Michael, Tim and Scott Mabe.

Patsy married Billy Joe Higginbotham on June 28, 1963. They had two sons, Joel Craig and John Taylor Higginbotham. Patsy was an enthusiastic head bank teller for Alliance Bank for many years. She was a member of Brashear Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school classes. Patsy “Pat” never met a stranger and told everyone that would listen about the Lord.


She is survived by brothers Michael (Linda) Mabe, Scott (Connie) Mabe, and sons, Craig Higginbotham and John (Stacy) Higginbotham. Pat was a wonderful MiMi to grandchildren Kolby Wimberley, Kade (Alyssa) Wimberley, Tyler (Amanda) Higginbotham, Kason Wimberley, Jonna Higginbotham and Kamryn (Carlos) Garcia. She was also thrilled with her great grands: Alexa, Meleny, Carter and Landry.


The family welcomes any donations to the charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
