Lady Cat Volleyball Ends Regular Season Tuesday with Senior Night

Coach Bailey Dorner’s team has already found themselves looking to playoffs as they wrap up their regular season at home Tuesday versus Pittsburg.

Sulphur Springs looks to close out their season strong Tuesday, October 25 as they host Senior Night.

Lady Cat volleyball honors at least five seniors in their home finale for Sulphur Spring, all of whom wish to lock the Lady Cats into the 3-seed with a victory Tuesday.

Senior night begins in the SSHS Main Gym versus Pittsburg on Tuesday at 5:30 P.M.

Coach Dorner’s team also looks to get back in the win column Tuesday after falling to Pleasant Grove Friday.

At home Friday, Oct. 21, Sulphur Springs hosted the Lady Hawks in their first home contest of two-straight to close out their regular season.

The Lady Cats came out to a blazing start, scoring seven straight points to lead 7-0.

That awakened the beast in Pleasant Grove, as after that they called a timeout and proceeded to outscore the Lady Cats 50-26 over the first and second, all set wins for the Lady Hawks.

Sulphur Springs struck back in the third set though, as Pleasant Grove made several mental mistakes letting their foot off the gas and fell to kill the opportunity for a sweep for the Lady Hawks.

Pleasant Grove took care of business in the fourth set though as they won the match, 3-1.

Friday’s loss to the Lady Hawks is the second straight defeat for Sulphur Springs, now 19-16 overall (5-4 district).

The Lady Cats look to reclaim lost momentum heading into the playoffs though when they host bottom-two team Pittsburg. Tuesday, Oct. 25’s Senior Night contest with the Lady Panthers begins in the SSHS Main Gym at 5:30 P.M.
