A funeral service for Bobby Jack “B.J.” Thomas, age 84, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jim Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., prior to service. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Chapman, George Shuttlesworth, Michael Wilkinson, Bryan Thomas, Caleb Thomas, and Cory Thomas.
B.J. passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born on November 9, 1937, in Sulphur Springs, to Jack and Dora Faye (Vickers) Thomas. He married Choyce Springer on December 22, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. There were married 62 years.
B.J. graduated from SSHS in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was an auto mechanic and business owner.
He is survived by his wife, Choyce; sons, Randy and David; daughter, Angela; grandsons, Caleb (Samantha) and Cory Thomas; one great-granddaughter; and sister, Norma Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Laverne Zarate, Glenna Shuttlesworth; and brother, Billy Mack Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
