A funeral service for Loretta Duckworth, age 76 of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Scotty Dwayne Duckworth, Harold Bell, Ryan Bell and Dusty Flanery serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Duckworth passed away on September 5, 2022, at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.
Loretta was born on February 22, 1946, in Santa Anna, Texas to C.A. and Etta Mae (Self) Harris. She married Jesse Duckworth on September 4, 1995, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She was a retired home healthcare provider. Loretta was a poem writer. She had a love for people and delighted in making those she cared about feel special by calling or sending cards on birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, or just to say hello. Loretta never forgot you once she knew you, and if she could brighten your day, she would go out of her way to do so. She was truly one of a kind and will be missed so much. She was a member of Lighthouse Church.
She was survived by her husband, Jesse; daughter, Vanessa Bell and husband, Harold; stepdaughter, Amanda Marie Wereline and husband, Shannon; stepson, Scotty Dwayne Duckworth; grandchildren, Ryan Bell, Erica Flanery, Sydney Bell, Riley Bell, Karlee Swanner and Dillon Cortez; and nine great-grandchildren.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sheila Harris; sons, Jeffrey Michael Baxley and Billy Weldon Baxley; and sister, Yvonne Wallis.
