A graveside service for Rodney “Bill” Rogers, age 72, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Lone Star Cemetery in Clarksville with Bro. Roy Ford officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at West Oaks Funeral Home of Sulphur Springs. Pallbearers will be Aiden Shepherd, Graham Shepherd, Paul Shepherd, Stephen Jordan, Trumon D. Davis, Brandon Zeller, and Roy Jordan.

Bill passed away on August 23, 2022. He was born in New Boston, Texas, on January 12, 1950. He married Rita Dianne Graham on May 5, 1972, in Dallas, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2017.

Bill was a Master Electrician and worked for TXU/Luminant.

He always put his family first. He was a loving husband, father, and best Grandad ever. He loved deer hunting, Nascar, and attended every event his grandkids had.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Rochelle Shepherd and husband, Paul, of Longview, Texas, and Brittany Jordan and husband, Stephen, of Harleton, Texas; his mother, Margaret Olivia Rogers of Hooks, Texas; Grandad’s beloved grandchildren, Aiden Shepherd, Olivia Shepherd, Graham Shepherd, Trinity Jordan, and Blakely Jordan; brothers-in-law, John Ed Zeller of Simms, Texas, Trumon W. Davis of Tatum, and Mark Graham and wife Judy of Frankston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his “favorite child,” his sweet dog, Penny.

In addition to his wife, Rita, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Zeller, and sister-in-law, Debbie Davis.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
