Funeral services for Billy Wayne Wilks, age 65, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rusty Posey officiating.  Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Phillip Johnson, David Brady, Mike Horton, David House, Dale Owens and Tim Cass serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins, Charles Ball, Harold Ball, Ned Ball, Tom Brown, Larry Brown and Buddy Brown.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Billy passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at his home.  He was born on October 17, 1956, in Sulphur Springs the son of Billy Wilks and Frances Brown Wilks. He married Kathy Lynn Hooten on October 22, 1976, in Sulphur Springs and she survives.

Billy worked for Rockwell/Flowserve for many years and then worked for Clayton Homes where he retired. Billy loved golfing, bicycling, and riding his Harley until his health prohibited him from doing so.  He was also an avid reader. Billy was also a member of Hope Family Fellowship.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Darlin (Jordan Hawes); brother, Morris Wilks (Tammy); brother-in-law’s Gerald Hooten (Toni) and Joe Hooten(Lisa); nephews, Cody Hooten (Chanda), Cameron Wilks and Shawn Large; nieces, Christa Henson (Ryan), Bridget Wilson, Jennifer Adamek (Cory), Gina Giguere (Bryan); God-daughters, Autumn Cotton and Leslie Gem; and special daughter of the heart, Kristin Champagne, along with several great-nephews and -nieces. 

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melba Sue Wilks; and son-in-law, Pete Darlin.
