Rebecca Darlene Hobbs Fouse

Rebecca, lovingly referred to as Becky by her family and friends, was born October 2, 1963, in Greenville, Texas, to Jack Hobbs Sr. and Lillie Mae Hobbs (Penny). Her parents divorced when she was a child and she gained stepparents, Charles Wayne Fite and Sheila Hobbs, who she loved as much as her own parents. She grew up in the Northeast Texas area, graduating Winnsboro High School Class of 1982.

Becky was a self-taught guitar player, playing by ear. She was an animal lover, rescuing squirrels, skunks, owls and more. Becky was always sharing anything she had, even if she didn’t have much. She was easy to talk to and never judged a soul. Becky loved to walk the rivers looking for arrowheads and fossils, and fishing the creeks. She enjoyed cruising on her motorcycle and was always up for a ride down the backroads listening to her favorite music.

Last year, Becky was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought like a warrior but, unfortunately, the cancer had spread to her lungs. Becky was strong and brave in her final days, and passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Natasha Hamm (Kacey) of Mount Vernon and Simoine Miller (Ashley) of Azle; grandchildren, Bradyen Hamm, Emmalie Hamm, Devin Miller; sisters, Cheryl Summers, Mary Jo Hodges, Mary Deaton; brothers, Jack Anthony Hobbs Jr. and Larry Hobbs; cousin Jenny Speir; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents; her sister, Joyce Borden; Aunt Ruby Alexander; and a baby niece, Lillie.

Natasha and Simoine would like to thank Individual Care of Texas in Quinlan, Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab, as well as Texas Oncology in Paris and Sulphur Springs for the loving care that was given to their mother these last few years. Your love and kindness did not go unnoticed.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
