Funeral services for Karey Lynn Brice will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 26th at 12:30 noon. Friends are invited to greet the family at 11:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Karey entered her eternal rest peacefully in the presence of family members on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
She was born the daughter of Jacquelyn Hamilton Brice and Randell Dean Brice in Sulphur Springs on May 29, 1956. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and demonstrated her love for God by loving those she served. She was a youth department volunteer and a member of the chancel choir. She loved music, especially singing, and playing the piano and used her gifts in the service of God. She had a special love and compassion for animals having adopted many dogs, cats and horses over her lifetime providing them with a safe and caring home.
Karey’s career as a teacher, coach and counselor spanned almost 40 years. Her greatest joy and achievement during her working years was impacting the lives of the young men and women she loved. She loved her work and lived it with passion, believing it to be a divine calling.
Her greatest lifetime achievement, however, was loving her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother Jacquelyn Hamilton Brice, brother Keith Brice, sister in law Connie Brice, nephew Benjamin Brice and wife Diana and nieces Courtney Correa and husband Aaron, Juliana Hager and husband Colton, Isabella Brice, and Hope Brice. She also leaves behind grandniece Emma Brice, grandnephew Liam Brice, soon to arrive grandniece Flora Correa. She was preceded in death by her father Randell Dean Brice.
