Visitation for Elmer Brooks, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Brooks passed away on January 30, 2022, at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.
Elmer was born on July 23, 1935, in Ripley, Illinois, to George William and Ada Mae (Fretueg) Brooks. He married Lillie Mae Brooks on January 16, 1959. in St. Louis, Missouri. Elmer was a veteran of the United States Marine. He was a retired truck driver. Elmer was a man of the Christian Faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Clark and husband, Terry; sons, Michael Brooks and wife Helen, David Brooks and Roger Brooks; grandchildren, Mathews Brooks, Joseph Clark, Dianna Holt, Tylar Brooks and Brett Brooks; and great-grandchildren, Kayden Cummings, Morgan Holt, Ember Clark and Jonin Clara.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie; one son, John Brooks; sisters, Leona Kirgan, Mae Hawk and Helen McClung; and brothers, Everett Brooks, Dwight Brooks and Lawrence Brooks.
