The men’s basketball team suffered their first loss on the season yesterday, Dec. 2 in the Mansfield tournament.
They dropped their first game in a close one to Atascocita, 66-61.
Coach Brandon Shaver’s squad did rebound after the loss to the Eagles by drubbing Arlington’s Seguin HS 77-55 to go 1-1 in their first day of the Mansfield tourney on Thursday, Dec. 2.
The win and loss in day one of tournament play brings the Wildcats basketball team’s record to 7-1.
Sulphur Springs has another match-up on this Friday game day, still in Mansfield, as the men’s basketball team will be in day two of the tourney taking on the Wilson Wildcats.
That game is set to tip off at noon.
If Coach Shaver’s Wildcats can stream together wins Friday they will not only continue to play Friday, but will also be back for day three of the Mansfield tourney on Saturday.
The Lady Cats basketball team are locked in to day two of their second tournament of the winter season held in Glen Rose.
