She was born on June 28, 1926, to Dave and Mirlie Reeves in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mrs. Mark was a 1943 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. She went on to continue her education at Texas A&M Commerce. She was active in the Lady Lions softball team as well as volleyball. She moved to Dallas, Texas, to take a job working for the US Government. She married the love of her life, Buford Ray Mark, on September 20, 1946, in Sulphur Springs. They made their home in Winnsboro, Texas, where Mrs. Mark raised one daughter, Dianne Mark Gillispie, and worked as a bank teller, and substitute teacher and coach for Winnsboro ISD. She loved her flowers and was known for having the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood. In the early 1970s, they bought a home and moved back to Sulphur Springs, where Mrs. Mark spent 35-plus years working as a bookkeeper and receptionist for AK Gillis and Sons, until her retirement. She returned to work a few years later, working for NETDATA from 1995 to 2005.

Anyone that knew her, knew she was a perfectionist, with a very strong opinion and tough from the inside out. Nothing meant more to her than the value of family and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She loved to sew in her younger years and until the very end she was an avid sports fan. She never missed a Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys or Dallas Mavericks game. She loved her game shows.

Mrs. Mark is survived by her Son-in-Law, Jerry Gillispie of Sulphur Springs; granddaughter, Michelle Skaggs and husband, Jeremey, of Sulphur Springs; great-granddaughter, Megan Glover and husband, Willie Sanchez, of Sulphur Springs; great-granddaughters, Mikala Rogers and Hannah Skaggs of Sulphur Springs; great-great-grandson, Stetsyn Sanchez of Sulphur Springs; great-great-granddaughter, Macelyn Sanchez of Sulphur Springs; step-great-great-granddaughters, Alexis and Jordan Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special “adopted” granddaughter, Kelly Hoffman.

Mrs. Mark was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband and beautiful daughter. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Curtis and Travis Reeves, and sisters, Pauline Riley and Opal Wallace. She was also preceded in death by very special nephew, Don Riley.
