Funeral services for Gracie Lou McLemore, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shane Carrington officiating. Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Durwood Smith, Joe Douglas, Mike Miesse, Greg Scott, Kerry Taylor, and Gary Tubb serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders of South Side Church of Christ, Dr. Bob Parker, and Keith Shurtliff. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Gracie passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on February 22, 1931, in White Oak Texas, the daughter of Newt Curtis and Linnie Dee Massey Sandefur. Gracie graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and later worked as a secretary for the Refugio, Texas and Victoria, Texas Independent School Districts for over 20 years. She was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Civil Air Patrol, and the local correspondent for Refugio County Timely Remarks. She married Thomas Mathew McLemore Jr. on June 12, 1948, in Mahoney, Texas. She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ in Sulphur Springs.

She is survived by husband, Thomas McLemore Jr. of Sulphur Springs; son, Kenneth McLemore and wife Carolyn of Hope, Arkansas; sister, Bethel Douglas and husband Ken of Caney, Texas; granddaughters, Melanie Claire Walters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Megan Carol Cox and husband Justin of Springhill, Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Hanna Jo Walters of Texarkana, Texas, Mollie Walters of Hope, Arkansas, and Lilly Elizabeth Cox of Springhill, Arkansas; and great-great-grandson, Sawyer Walters of Texarkana, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Myra White, Claudie Carlisle, and Rebecca Powell.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
