Funeral service for Curtis Dixon, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2 p.m.on Saturday April 3, 2021, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Josh Yager, Justin Yager, Chuck Simmons, Charlie Simmons, Justin Prater and Chris Price as pallbearers and Larry Yager, Shelly Yager, Pete Price and Ronnie Thompson as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mr. Dixon passed away on March 30, 2021, at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs.
Curtis was born on July 11, 1944, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Luther and Lillian (Giles) Dixon. He had a high school degree. Curtis was a truck driver. He was a member of the Davis St Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sister, Linda McKenzie; brother, Johnny Dixon; nephews, James Dixon, Chuck Simmons, Larry Yager and wife, Shelly; nieces, Cindy Price and husband, Pete, Tina Thompson and husband, Ronnie, Wendy Davis and husband, Farron, Christy Stapleton and husband, Dennis; great nieces and nephews, Josh Yager and wife Breanna, Justin Yager, Charlie Joe Simmons, Dylan Simmons, Mandy Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Chris Price and wife, Sara, Scotty Price, CeCe Jeffery, Cadrain Davis and Casey Stinnet; and numerous great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Dixon; and sister, Mattie Lou Jones.
