NETLA 2021 Hopkins County Junior Market Goat Show Results

The Northeast Texas Livestock Association’s annual Hopkins County Junior Livestock Show started with an agriculture mechanics project show and contest on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.

The NETLA junior market show then got into full swing Thursday with FFA and 4-H members from across Hopkins County showing their lamb and goat projects. The afternoon began with the lamb show and concluded with the goat show which featured eight classes, three showmanship categories and the naming of grand and reserve champions.

Isaac Taylor exhibited the Grand Champion goat, a Class 7 project with which the Cumby FFA member also earned first place in Class 7 and his second consecutive Intermediate Showmanship award. Taylor’s Class 2 goat finished fifth.

Sulphur Springs FFA member Caroline Coker’s Class 6 goat not only won first in class but was named Reserve Champion. She also received the Senior Showmanship award with her Class 6 project.
