Funeral services for Tal ”Papa” Stone, age 84, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jody Nichols officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jr. Gregg, Shane Stone, Dakota Stone, Cole Williamson, Keith Stone, Steve Pace and Shae Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Pace, Jeremy Aldridge, Jim Williams, Tommy Walters, Jason Creppel, Charles Creppel and Kyle Stone. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Stone died on February 13, 2021 at his home in Euless.

He was born the son of Talmage Stone and Ruby Leverton Stone on July 5, 1936 in Hopkins County, TX. Mr. Stone was married to Oneta Patterson Stone for 57 years. A veteran of the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 with Top Secret Clearance. He worked as a Terminal Manager for Red Arrow Freight Lines for 27 years and for US Best Way for 20 years. Tal sponsored the Trinity High School Rodeo for 4 years and was a leader and member of the Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Irving, TX.

Mr. Stone’s pass times and hobbies were his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, listening to Elvis Presley and old country music and watching rodeos and PBR.

Survivors include: children: Tony Stone, Troy Stone and Tracy Stone; grandchildren: Somer Stone Denson, Tracie Stone Aldridge and husband, Jeremy Aldridge, Amanda Stone Williamson and husband, Cole Williamson, Skyler Stone, Shane Stone and wife, Cate Stone and Dakota Stone; great grandchildren: Saxie Stone, Paislee Denson, Brecken Denson, Kodi Lynn Aldridge, Addisyn Williamson, Camden Williamson and Autry Stone; sister: Francis Edwards Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Talmage and Ruby Stone; loving wife and longtime sweetheart: Oneta Patterson Stone; sister: Bobbie Stone; brothers: Gary Stone and Henry Stone; sister-in-law/best friend: Jimmie Sue Roden.

In lieu of flowers, the Stone family would like donations made to the Western Heritage Cowboy Church, 525 North Sower Road, #7437, Irving, TX 75061
