HC Junior Market Livestock Show 2021, Swine Division

Intermediate Showmanship winner Brody Busby of HC 4H

There were more than 60 swine validated for the 2021 show held on Friday February 26 in the Hopkins County Civic Center. The swine showing began at 11:30am. Showmanship competition by exhibitor age came first, followed by Class divisions according to weight. The Sr. Showmanship award went to Katelyn Pence of HC 4H. Katelyn’s pig project also took First in Class in the 230-235 lb. class. Showmanship winner in the Junior Division was Charleigh Smith of the North Hopkins FFA Chapter.

N H FFA Jalyn Hrabal’s projects took First in Class 4 and Class 10
SSHS FFA Braddox Rawson’s swine projects won First In Class 1 and Class 5

Other first-in-class ribbons went to Sailan Adair of North Hopkins FFA, Jackson Reed of SS FFA, Emma Eddins of HC 4H and Danielle Garrett of the Miller Grove FFA Chapter. Braddox Rawson claimed Classes 1 and 5, and Jalyn Hrabal’s projects captured Classes 4 and 10. Out of the more than sixty swine entries, about 15 percent of them will be included in the NETLA Sale of Champions on Saturday. A tip of the hat goes out to all the many exhibitors on keeping their livestock in prime condition and weight through the difficult winter storm. Congratulations to all the 4H and FFA students, including those pictured below.
