The Saltillo Lions Basketball Team got a big home win over Savoy on Monday (December 21), 81-28. The Lions outscored Savoy in every quarter getting off to a 23-7 start after the first period. Post Chris Boekhorst led all scorers with 30 points. Andrew Redburn chipped in 16 points. Colton McGill added 8 points. Coy Collines had 5 points. Gunner Tarver, Caden McGill, Ridge Johnson, Colby McCoy and David Whitworth all scored 4 points. Cristian Trejo scored 2 points. The Lions improved their season record to 4-6. The Lions JV also won over the Savoy JV in a close one, 39-35 with Ethan White scoring 21 points. The Lions play at Dodd City Tuesday with a JV game at 5 p.m. with a varsity game to follow.
