Tira News: Quarterly City Council Meeting Set Sept. 14

By Jan Vaughn

We want to express our sympathy to the family of Beryl Chapman of Corinth. His parents were the late Claude and Rosa (Smiddy) Chapman, of Tira. His funeral was held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at West Oaks Funeral Home, with burial in the Tira Cemetery. Please be in prayer for his daughters, Leann and Tyra, and the rest of the family.

The quarterly meeting of the Tira City Council will be held on Monday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. The Tira Community Center has reopened for reservations. Groups are reminded to follow proper COVID-19 safety measures.

We enjoyed having family over for a visit on Labor Day weekend. I hope to be able to report about other holiday activities next week. Brailon Joslin, son of Landon and Laiken Joslin, spent his 7th birthday with his classmates on Sept. 2, and then celebrated with his family on Sunday. He and his brothers, Rylan and Slaiden, (and his parents!) had fun with a bounce house/water slide, and then enjoyed hot dogs and birthday cake.

I always need and appreciate input from my friends to help keep me informed of news in our community. If you have any news pertaining to Tira residents, past or present, please contact me, Jan Vaughn, 903-438-6688 or [email protected].
