Tira Community Center Upgraded and Open

By Jan Vaughn

The Tira Community Center is back open. Touch-free upgrades to the plumbing fixtures have been installed, in an effort to reduce the spread of disease. Groups who reserve the Community Center should be reminded of the requirement to follow county, state, and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) COVID-19 protocols. To schedule an event, please contact Janie
Lewis at 903-945-2395.

The next quarterly meeting of the Tira City Council is coming up on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 6 p.m, due to Labor falling on the regularly scheduled first Monday meeting date.

Dustin, Natalie, and Everly Weir visited with Robert and Yvonne Weir and family over the weekend. Dustin and Everly had spent the previous Saturday night with them, too. Dustin mowed and trimmed weeds while there. Yvonne commented, “Everly is changing every day.”

We enjoyed visiting with our great-grandsons, Rylan, Brailon, and Slaiden Joslin, on Saturday. They had a good time fishing and playing on games on the electronics. Also, we were glad to have our grandson, Kenden Joslin and his girlfriend, Emma Hall, come by on Sunday afternoon.

I always need and appreciate input from my friends to help keep me informed of news in our community. If you have any news pertaining to Tira residents, past or present, please contact me, Jan Vaughn, 903-438-6688 or [email protected]
