Funeral service for Geneva Smith, age 87, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Greater Emanuel Baptist Church with Pastor D.K. Young officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Ford Cemetery in Roxton, TX with Anthony Brooks, William Earl Ausbie, Sr., James, Bobby Ausbie, Donald Hollins, Jr., Trenton Hearn, and William Earl Ausbie, Jr serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Herman Ausbie and James Green. Visitation will be held from 6p.m. to 8p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Christus Mother Frances, Tyler.
Geneva Smith was born on August 27, 1933 in the Roxton, TX to Earl and Gladys Ausbie. She married Carl Smith on April 7, 1967 in Paris, TX. Geneva worked as a home healthcare and was a member of Greater Emanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Tishie Mae Davis (Lenell) and Mattie Holland (Rob); niece, Natalie Ausbie; Valerie Brooks (Anthony), Shannon Ausbie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Napoleon Ausbie, Leslie Ausbie, Harl, Nathaniel, J.W. and Harvey.
