Even with a record setting first week, the annual Lenten fish fry at St. James Catholic Church ended early due to COVID-19 concerns. This is one of the larger fund raising events for the Sulphur Springs Knights Of Columbus. The men wore smiles, but each one felt a tinge of sadness that their event was truncated. The order to cancel the remaining Friday events came from the regional Catholic Diocese.
The KOC are looking forward to a yet-to-be-named summer event, and their wildly successful annual Thanksgiving Smoked Turkey Event.
