Saltillo Lady Lions Basketball Goes to 4-0 in District With Win at Bloomburg Friday
The Saltillo Lady Lions Basketball Team remains undefeated in district play at 4-0 after a dominating win over Bloomburg, 70-20 on Friday at Bloomburg. The Lady Lions led 24-4 after the first quarter, 42-12 at halftime and 54-20 after three quarters. The Lady Lions outscored Bloomburg 16-0 in the fourth quarter. The Lady Lions were led by Anna Reeder with 16 points. Maddy Smith had 11 points. Allie Lane and Jocelyn Ochoa scored 9 points. Chandler Bain, Brittney Peeples and McKenna Gurley all had 6 points. Kristina Wade scored 5 points. Julianna Giles added 3 points. Lady Lions Coach Bill Giles said this was a good win on the road. He said Bloomburg’s gym is hard to play in and said the Lady Lions came out playing really well to start the game. The #15 ranked Lady Lions improved their season record to 21-7. They play Sulphur Bluff in Saltillo Tuesday with games starting at 4:30 p.m.
