Registration Ongoing For Hoop Dreams Basketball

Hoop Dreams Basketball Team

Sign-up is ongoing for Hoop Dreams Basketball, a league made up of special needs children from ages 5 to 21.  There is no cost to play, but children need to register so that t-shirts in the correct sizes can be obtained and coaches can be lined up.

The coaches are volunteers from the Lions club. Teen Court will be volunteering to be buddies.

“This will be Pilot Club of Sulphur Springs’ 13th year for Hoop Dreams basketball,” Pilot Club of Sulphur Springs Projects Chairman Beverley Owens said. “Hoop Dreams would not be possible without all the help from the community.”

This year’s sponsors are Alliance Bank, Oncor, Jay Hodge Chevrolet, and Eternity Creations.

“We have 20 kids signed up right now but we are looking for more basketball players,” said Owens.

Games dates are:  Jan. 27,  Feb. 3, Feb. 10, and Feb. 24 , and are played at 6 p.m. in the Sulphur Springs Elementary campus gym.

Awards night will be Feb. 24. After the games, trophies will be presented. The Pilot Club invites the community to come out and cheer the players on.

“We would love to have the stands full to cheer the players on each week, first game is January 27 and awards night is February 24. We are inviting all parents, grandparents, friends, and all the community to come out and watch these kids play,” said Owens.

Contact Beverley Owens at 903-348-5121 or any Pilot Club member for a registration form (or see below) or additional information about Hoop Dreams basketball.
