Often in soccer, defensive miscues result in goals for the opposition. That was the case for the Lady Cats Soccer Team Tuesday night, January 28, as Pleasant Grove took advantage of Lady Cats defensive mistakes to take a 5-2 win at home.
Lady Cats Coach Javier Aguayo said the Lady Cats made two defensive mistakes in the first half. The Lady Hawks quickly scored two more goals to start the second half.
Then, the Lady Cats looked like they might mount a comeback. Lady Cat freshman Rebekah Stanley scored a goal on a free kick about half way through the second half. About 10 minutes later, Ashley Noe scored for the Lady Cats on a goal assisted by Stanley.
The Lady Cats faint hopes of a further comeback were dashed by a fifth Pleasant Grove goal, again after a Lady Cat defensive mistake.
Coach Aguayo said the Lady Cats can’t have that many mistakes in a game and try to come back in the last 15 minutes of the game.
The Lady Cats season record is now 3-5-1. The Lady Cats play a non-district game at Wylie East Friday night.
