Lady Cats Soccer Coach Javier Aguayo Comments On Team's 4-3 Loss To Princeton Tuesday Night

Lady Cats Soccer Coach Javier Aguayo shared his thoughts on a win that got away Tuesday night, January 14, at Gerald Prim Stadium.

The Lady Cats led Princeton, 3-0 after the first half and about 10 minutes into the second half only to see the Lady Panthers score 4 goals during the next twenty minutes to take a 4-3 win.

Coach Aguayo said the Lady Cats made some mistakes on the defensive end. He said the Princeton player who scored all four of their goals is a phenomenal player. Coach Aguayo said the Lady Cats needed to keep playing in the second half like they did to get ahead. He said they moved the ball around and kept possession to keep the ball away from Princeton.

Coach Aguayo said he was very proud of his girls because they showed that they could go out and compete against great players and teams. He said the Princeton coach congratulated the Lady Cats for the way they played and added the Lady Cats gave them a run for their money. Coach Aguayo said the Lady Cats would learn from the loss adding it would help them be better in the games to come.

The Lady Cats season record is now 0-3-1. They will play in the Terrell Tiger Winter Blast Soccer Tournament this Thursday through Saturday.
