The first day to sign up is Nov. 9. The Republican Party of Hopkins County will be conducting a sign up at the Hopkins County Courthouse in the court room on the second floor at 9 a.m. Saturday, according to Hopkins County Republican Party Chairman Donnie W. Wisenbaker.
Anyone who wishes to run for a local public office in the Republican Primary, should bring a completed application along with sign up fees or petition.
Before signing up, individuals must have a treasurer appointed and
information filed with the County Clerk’s Office.
“The fee may be paid by check, cash or money order. I prefer cash, cashier’s check or money order. The check or money order must be made out to ‘The Hopkins County Republican Primary Fund.’ If you pay by personal check, I have to wait until the check clears to post your name on SOS website,” said Wisenbaker.
