The Saltillo Lady Lions evened their season record at 1-1 with a win at Rivercrest, 62-20 on Saturday (November 16). The Lady Lions had a very strong first quarter leading 22-0 after one quarter. Their halftime lead was 28-12 and they led after three periods, 46-18. Coach Bill Giles said it was a good game for the Lady Lions defensively. He added the Lady Lions shot the ball well from the outside and that opened up their inside game, Chandler Bain led Saltillo with 18 points. Brittney Peeples had 17 points, Anna Reeder scored 11 points, Allie Lane had 10 points, Maddy Smith had 4 points and Paisley Kastner added 2 points. The Lady Lions have their regular season home opener against Maud on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile the Saltillo Lady Lions JV took first place in the Rivercrest JV Shoot Out on Saturday. The Lady Lions JV defeated Honey Grove, 37-19, Chisum 40-23 and Commerce, 51-20. The Lady Lions JV now has a 3-1 season record.
