Howard Laythan Evans, 88, of Cumby went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Walker Funeral Home, Commerce with Byron George officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Point Cemetery in Cumby.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Walker Funeral Home.

Howard was born June 16, 1931 in Cumby Tx to Robert Linton & Vera Preston Evans.  He married the love of his life Glenna Webb, 65 years ago on Oct 6, 1954.

Howard served 2 years in the U.S. Army and was based in Spokane Washington and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Metal for his service. He was also a mechanic, owned Evans Texaco and was a rancher. Howard loved his family, friends, raising cattle, riding his 4-wheeler and his Ranch which he fondly named “H & G Ranch”. He would do anything for anybody.  He was of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Evans; Sons Jimmy Evans and wife Gena, Dewayne Evans and wife Twonette and Daughter Brenda Campbell and husband Joe; grandchildren Amy Carter and husband Vincent, Eric Williams and wife Tamara, Justin Evans and wife Brandi, Joseph Evans and wife Amanda, Stefany Walton and husband Jason and Emma John Evans; great-grandchildren Morgan, Savannah and Hudson Carter, Shyla Williams, Jackson, Jace and Jessie Evans, Jayden, Jett and Jenson Evans , Jace, Matthew and Lilly Walton and sister-in-law Jerry Evans, Brother-In-Laws  Ronnie Winters and J.B Webb and  numerous  cousins, nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers: Vincent Carter, Linton Evans, Michael Evans, Phillip Evans, Ken Cuddy, Keith Webb, Gary Williams and Bobby Yarbrough.

Honorary Pallbearer: Don Fausnight

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Robby Lynn Evans; brothers Robert (Bob) Evans, Clifford Evans and Charles Evans and his great- granddaughter Ellie Sue Walton.
