Wood County Sheriff’s Report July 9-16, 2019

July 9th

  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 69 near Alba; at approximately 12:34 a.m. William Barnett, 48, of Emory, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 3:01 a.m. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy transport.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2170 near Quitman, at approximately 7:08 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Misty Crawford, 41, of Quitman, was arrested for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Casey Curry, 36, of Quitman, was arrested for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance and outstanding warrants. Misty Wheeler, 39, of Quitman, was arrested for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance, an outstanding warrant and Prohibited Substance/Item in Correctional Facility.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:58 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle on Church St. in Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman, at approximately 8:35 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:03 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on CR 1522 near Alba. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 6113 near Quitman, at approximately 2:05 p.m., in reference to identity theft. Actors, or actors unknown, used the reporting party’s identifying information to get a bank loan. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 5474 near Yantis, at approximately 5:43 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 6:47 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Donnell Garner, 30, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 7:46 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:55 p.m., in reference to a possible assault on Johnson St. in Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

July 10th

  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 8692 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:48 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole money from the reporting party. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Overlake Knoll near Hawkins, at approximately 12:26 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3940 near Mineola, at approximately 2:27 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 75, was found deceased at his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:45 p.m., in reference to a scam on PR 7485 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 288 near Quitman; at approximately 5:01 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:10 p.m., in reference to a possible theft on PR 7907 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Loop 564 near Mineola; at approximately 5:43 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 7908 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:15 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1534 near Alba, at approximately 7:31 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1215 near Quitman, at approximately 8:08 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 7:56 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Peaceful Woods near Hawkins, at approximately 8:20 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies determined the alarm went off, due to a tree that fell on the house.
  • At 10:40 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 182 near Quitman, at approximately 10:43 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy transport.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2117 near Quitman, at approximately 10:54 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Joshua Scott, 27, of Quitman, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

July 11th

  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:49 a.m., in reference to terroristic threat on FM 1643 near Winnsboro. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Mineola; at approximately 11:21 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:44 p.m., in reference to harassment on CR 3875 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2930 near Mineola, at approximately 3:53 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2336 near Mineola, at approximately 4:48 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Loop 564 near Mineola, at approximately 7:55 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle by Lake Quitman boat ramp; at approximately 8:28 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1859 near Yantis, at approximately 8:32 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:21 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 9:30 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4560 near Winnsboro; at approximately 10:26 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 11:45 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

July 12th

  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 4255 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:26 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:20 a.m., in reference to theft on CR 2388 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 515 near Yantis; at approximately 1:06 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola, at approximately 2:20 p.m., in reference to a violation of a protective order. Calvin Murphy, 31, of Quitman, was arrested for Violation of a Protective Order.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2647 near Mineola, at approximately 7:41 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2164 near Quitman, at approximately 11:08 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Jarred Robbins, 17, of Quitman, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

July 13th

  • Deputies were dispatched to Kiowa near Quitman, at approximately 12:58 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3234 near Quitman, at approximately 7:06 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 68, was found deceased in her residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1750 near Yantis, at approximately 9:07 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:17 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief on FM 14 near Winnsboro. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke to the reporting party, at approximately 11:44 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3875 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:08 p.m., in reference to credit/debit card abuse. A known actor used the reporting party’s credit/debit card without authorization.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Lloyd St. in Yantis, at approximately 3:47 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Daniel Santoya, 54, of Yantis, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury of Family/Household Member-Impede Breathing/Circulation.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2128 near Quitman, at approximately 6:29 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies located the individuals and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 7:03 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook beach, at approximately 7:20 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

July 14th

  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2163 near Quitman, at approximately 1:28 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3909 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:17 a.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:23 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief on CR 4470 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s mailbox.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 1:06 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Wendy Hundall, 40, of Quitman, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Prohibited Substance in Correctional Facility – Alcohol/Drug/Phone/Tobacco.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1804 near Mineola, at approximately 2:09 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole cattle from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:14 p.m., in reference to dispute. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:53 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat on Holly Trail East near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2958 near Alba, at approximately 10:25 p.m., in reference to deadly conduct. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

July 15th

  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 7:23 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Deputies arrived and determined no damaged had occurred to the reporting party’s vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2460 near Mineola, at approximately 7:57 a.m., in reference to found property. Deputies located the owner of the purses and were advised several items were missing from them. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 5295 near Yantis, at approximately 9:50 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:01 p.m., in reference to theft on Hwy 80 near Mineola. A known actor stole a check from the reporting party.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1280 near Quitman, at approximately 12:04 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:56 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:10 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2166 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • At 1:41 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 515 near Yantis.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Sun Dance Path near Hawkins, at approximately 3:24 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 3:39 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:53 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2387 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 4430 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:38 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
  • At 5:44 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 5:45 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3875 near Mineola, at approximately 6:01 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. EMS transported the individual to the hospital and deputies cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:38 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

July 16th

  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:52 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies located an open door, but there were no signs of burglary. Deputies secured the door and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 5:41 a.m., in reference to a scam. Actors, or actors unknown, put a card skimmer on a gas pump station. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola, at approximately 6:08 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Actors, or actors unknown, took the reporting party’s vehicle without authorization.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:08 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances on CR 1515 near Alba. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:35 a.m., in reference to theft on CR 3130 near Quitman. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 4495 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:54 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2121 near Quitman, at approximately 3:37 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3250 near Quitman, at approximately 4:01 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole the reporting party’s mailbox.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 7661 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:12 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 4:52 p.m., in reference to harassment on CR 1336 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 5:31 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 5295 near Yantis, at approximately 5:34 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:03 p.m., in reference to dumping on CR 3900 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2121 near Quitman, at approximately 9:44 p.m., in reference to a theft. Ricky Hitt, 18, of Mineola, was arrested for Theft of Property.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:28 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

Additional activity

  • Between the dates of July 9 and July 16, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Emergency Medical Services, Winnsboro Police Department, Quitman Police Department, Holly Lake Ranch Security and Mineola Police Department.
  • Between the dates of July 9 and July 16, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 1 arrest warrant and arrested the individual and filed 4 cases with the District Attorney.
